Working in the renewable energy business since 2001.
Started in the renewable energy business as a technical supervisor for biomass and hydro plants and became after a year responsible for the biomass and hydro plants of the second largest utility company in the Netherlands. In the asset management of these plants his approach was not only technical, but also financial and commercial. By combining these expertises these plants were operating according production targets and within the estimated budgets. For the hydro plants also a total retrofit programm took place under his responsibility.
In 2006 there was a possibility to start-up an operations management department within a renewable energy and consulting company in Utrecht. The start was to do the assetmanagement of a biogas plant of 400 kW and after 3 years he was responsible for the entire portfolio of on- and offshore wind, biomass and solar in total 250 MW. In the function of Manager Operations he was responsible for the strategy, budgetting and staffing regarding O&M in all projects which were generally in the development and/or contracting phase.
During his career a Master of Business in Energy Systems was completed, which gave him the most important insight that the biggest possible added value in asset management of innovating technologies is to be realized by combining the technical, commercial and financial expertise
Experienced in the area of operational- / asset management of on- and offshore wind, technical ,commercial and legal. Setting up organisations and departments.
Shareholder representative for the Prinses Amalia Windpark (Q7) and several onshore wind projects.
Involved in the asset management of offshore wind turbine industry from the start.
Developed and Implemented O&M strategies for on- and offshore wind parks.
Knowledge of Power Trading, Operations & Maintenance strategies and Contract Management
